51. Hummer H1

Originally designed only for military use, the original Hummer was so bad ass, so awesome, that popular demand caused its manufacturer, AM General, to produce civilian model. The thing is a beast. With an amazing 16 inches (40 cm) of ground clearance as well as super-aggressive approach and departure angles, the Humvee can manage to climb over an obstacle a 22 inches (56 cm) high. It can also propel through 30 inches (76 cm) of water! It was the ultimate all-terrain vehicle that made environmentalists cry at its sight. An enthusiastic campaign featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger (who owns several Humvees) helped to propel the vehicle’s popularity. In 1999, AM General in conjunction with General Motors produced the smaller H2, it was at this time the original civilian Humvee was given the designation H1. In all, the H1was produced in limited numbers. The most coveted model for collectors is the H1 Alpha produced in 2006, the final year of H1 production.
