22. Subaru Impreza WRX STI

Originally built for rally car racing, the Subaru WRX Sti is the high performance version of the Subaru Impreza. The WRX STi wasn’t available in the U.S. until Subaru saw how popular Mitsubishi’s Lancer Evo was in the states. The engine is a turbocharged and inter-cooled DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder, that puts out 305 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. The STi hits zero to sixty in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 157 mph. The only transmission available for the STi is a 6-speed manual. Due to its rally car roots, the suspension is fine tuned for hard cornering and the all wheel drive allows it to stick to the road like glue when flying down the road.
