19. Honda S2000

The Honda S2000 was a high performance roadster that was built by Honda between 1999 and 2009. The S2000 is named for its engine displacement of 2 liters, carrying on the tradition of the S500, S600, and S800 roadsters of the 1960’s. The first generation featured a front mid-engine, rear wheel drive layout. The engine produced 237 horsepower from a four-cylinder DOHC VTEC. A six-speed manual transmission was mated to the engine. According to Honda, the S2000 had “the world’s top level, high performance 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine.” Over the years the S2000 went through a number of design changes, each generation getting better and better. The suspension and engine often received the most upgrades, giving the S2000 better handling and stability as well as a more powerful engine.
