7. Midnight Run

When bounty hunter Jack Walsh, played by Robert De Niro, is tasked with bringing Jonathan Mardukas, played by Charles Grodin, back to LA. Mardukas had embezzled money from the Chicago mob. Walsh must return him within five days or the bail bondsman who hired him will default. The FBI interrupts his plans, wanting Mardukas to stay in Chicago and testify against the mob. Walsh makes the slip with Mardukas and the two have avoid mob henchmen, federal agents, and untimely mishaps—all while putting up with each other. The simple “midnight run” turns into anything but as Walsh struggles to fulfill the job he was tasked with and attempts to put his fractured life with his estranged wife back together.
