Bringing a friend or family member with you will help keep the salesperson from trying to intimidate you during the negotiations. Before you leave to go shopping, make sure you setup a game plan with the person. This should include having them be the “negative” voice during the negotiations, and always pointing out the bad or negative aspects about the potential deal.
