11. Wrap up the Negotiation Quickly

The more time that you spend negotiating with the car dealership, the more likely that you will not end up being satisfied with your final deal on the car you are buying. A good goal for most auto shoppers is to try to complete the negotiation with the dealership in no more than 30 minutes. As you spend more time, the salesperson will be less likely to want to work with you as they will start losing money on working with you while they could be selling cars to other customers that are on the car lot at the same time. If you have not been able to find common ground by this point, then provide the salesman or woman with your contact information and leave the dealership. You may just get surprised with a call back with the staff wanting to work with you further on your new or used car purchase.
