12. Heinkel Kabine

The Heinkel Kabine is another strange European automobile produced by a former aircraft manufacturer. The German automobile was built between 1956-1958, and the vehicle is powered by a four-stroke engine and only featured a single door. The car’s designer, Heinkel Flugzeugwerke, was previously known for helping produce bombers flown by the Luftwaffe in World War 2. The stock engine in the original model of the car is 174 cc in size, and it is rated at 9.2 horsepower. Later models of the vehicle feature a slightly larger engine at 204 cc. Similar to the Isetta, access to the vehicle was through the front of the auto; however, the steering wheel did not move with the door in order to avoid patent issues. The car also features a fabric sun roof that is designed to be the emergency escape hatch of the auto if the front door was jammed.
