8. Examine the Spare Tire

One of the most over-looked aspects when buying a new car is to fail to take a look at the spare tire. A common phenomena with new car sales in the United States is to reduce the size and quality of the spare tire in order to decrease vehicle weight and increase gas mileage. Before signing the purchase agreement with the auto dealer, make the salesperson show the spare tire, repair kit, and jack. If you are not comfortable with the emergency accessories of the automobile consider looking at equivalent makes or models of auto that are better equipped to handle emergencies while on the road.
