The Chevy Equinox is a compact SUV that scores fairly high on the Kogod auto index for being “Made in America” at an 82.5 out of 100. The SUV loses 17.5 points on the index by using parts that are sourced from abroad in the SUV chassis, body, and electrical side of the vehicle. 100% of the remaining components in the automobile are made in the United States in the vehicle, and it was assessed as a tie with four other automobiles for the third most American made car on the market this year. There are two engines offered for the Equinox. The first is a more fuel efficient, 182 horse power, 2.4 liter four cylinder, and the second is a 301 horsepower, 3.6 liter six cylinder engine. The Equinox offers a 4G LTE connection with a built-in WiFi hotspot in addition to forward collision alert system and a rear park assist feature that were not featured on legacy models of the auto.
