The 1956 Porsche 550 Spyder is one of the most iconic classic cars of all time. The car was produced between 1953-1956, and it is one of the most frequently reproduced classic automobiles of all time. The racing car was first introduced at the Paris Auto Show in 1953, and the car was designed to ride extremely close to the ground in order to reduce its overall efficient for racing. The car was a rarity for its day showing a capability of being able to be driven on the street as well as race without significant changes or modifications needing to be made to the vehicle. The 1956 edition of the Spyder would see the company introduce a lighter and more rigid spaceframe chassis. This model of the car would earn the first win for the company of a major race at the 1956 Tara Florio.
