16. The Batmobile from the Original TV Series

In 1955 the Lincoln division of the Ford Motor Company designed and built a futuristic concept car called the Lincoln Futura. The car had been built entirely by hand in Turin, Italy. Like most concept cars, it was never put into production. George Barris actually acquired the Futura for $1. Ten years later when 20th Century Fox approached him needing a car for Batman, Barris knew the Futura would provide him all he needed. The car had bat-like wings and curves. The car was so popular Barris and his team would replicate it with fiberglass molded bodies to display across the country. And, of course, Batman, the caped crusader, was forever linked to his car.
