The BMW i8 plug-in hybrid is one of the most revolutionary green cars to hit the market in the past decade. The i8 is capable of seating four adults comfortably and features a turbocharged three cylinder engine that when married up with the two electric motors of the auto sees a total of 357 horsepower. The top speed of the car is 155 MPH, and it handles equivalent to the non-green BMW sports cars on the market. The car can go from zero to 60 MPH in just 3.6 seconds, and the company has also developed a test i8 supercar that runs off of hydrogen fuel cells as a pre-look at what is to come from the company in the green car market. The hydrogen fuel cell powered auto can see a range of more than 300 miles on a single charge, and it goes from zero to 62 MPH in approximately six seconds with a top speed of 124 MPH.
