The stock engine in the car is a 2.0 liter four cylinder engine rated at 158 horsepower. Consumers can also choose to upgrade to a 1.5 liter turbo diesel rated at 174 horsepower. The stock engine comes with a six-speed manual transmission with the option to upgrade to a CVT; however, the turbo version of the car only gives consumers the choice of a CVT. The overall gas mileage rating of the Civic is well above average with a 31 MPG (city) and 42 MPG (highway) rating. The top overall speed of the car is 126 MPH, and it can go from zero to 60 MPH in 6.8 seconds. For the 2015 sales year, Honda sold just north of 300,000 Civics on the market.
