5. Look out for Wildlife

Most Americans and other tourists visit Alaska to check out the scenic beauty and wildlife. Unless you stick to downtown Anchorage, you are likely to see a full range of deer, moose, caribou, and even bears while driving around the state. In Alaska, the wildlife have the right of way, and you have to make sure you pay special attention to the sides of the road to ensure you don’t have an unfortunate accident by running into a stray moose or deer. One of the keys to surviving driving in Alaska is to always keep one’s head on a swivel while driving on the open roadway. Deer and moose will not always cross near one of the many warning signs that are placed on the roadways around the state.
