13. Ford Tailgate Step with Tailgate Lift Assist

The tailgate on new Ford F-150s is much larger than on past model years of the truck. In response to consumer demand, Ford has deploy a combination of a new tailgate step with the company’s Tailgate Lift Assist technology to help truck owners easily access the truck bed and close the tail gate. When the lift assist is installed, it takes minimal effort to close, where on older are larger truck models in the past it will commonly take two hands to close the tailgate. While not as ground-braking as many of the new driver assist features for trucks and SUVs, the tech is included with new Ford pickup trucks when upgrading to the “Technology Package” when buying the auto new.
