9. BMC’s Mini – 1959

The BMC Mini truly changed the small car market by being the reason most economy cars now have transverse front-engine, FWD. Mini also had innovative suspension that used space-saving rubber cones. On top of that, the FWD layout and lightweight design helped it win the Monte Carlo rally several times thanks to its great traction on slippery surfaces. It continued to win many other championships.
