7. 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid

The highly efficient Honda Accord Hybrid is touted as a performance hybrid by the Honda Corporation. Powered by a hybrid powertrain named i-MMD that integrates a 2.0 liter gas engine with an electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack, the Accord Hybrid produces 196 horsepower. The Accord hybrid also has a plug-in variation, which allows for driving on the electric motor only. The plug-in model uses Honda’s next-generation two-motor hybrid system, which continuously moves through three different modes to maximize driving efficiency: all-electric, gasoline-electric and an engine direct-drive mode. The EPA estimated gas mileage of the Accord Hybrid is 50 mpg city and 45 mpg highway. The plug-in variation gets slightly less mileage in the city at 47 mpg.
