5. DeLorean DMC-12

The DeLorean DMC-12 is one of the biggest public car disappointments of all time. Although it is one of the more famous of the car disappointments by being featured in the Back to Future movies, the commercial version of the auto became known for being too slow, very prone to various faults that required a mechanic to help the owner correct, and it also became associated with a number of “less-than-legal” activities throughout the United States. Feature-wise; however, one of the favorites of the fans of the auto is the fact that its doors open upwards similar to a Lamborghini putting this feature into the mainstream for the first time. The auto is not rated well at high speeds, so it is recommended that owners of the DMC-12s that are still floating around do not attempt to recreate scenes from the movie without having a tow service on stand-by.
