If the car is totaled in an accident, you’ll receive the cash value of the car. An older vehicle might only be worth a few thousand or less, which means that any repairs will exceed the value of the car. A car that is worth less than a thousand dollars shouldn’t have such high coverage. Paying high premiums for comprehensive and collision doesn’t make financial sense.
