2. Toyota Prius
For years the Toyota Prius has been king of the hill when it comes to hybrid vehicles and it’s no surprise as to why. The Prius fills a specific role in the automotive market, giving consumers amazing gas mileage at a reasonable price. The tiny 1.8 liter four-cylinder engine and electric motor combine to make 134 horsepower. When driven in the most efficient manner, the Prius gets an estimated 51 mpg city and 48 mpg highway. Enthusiasts may not be the biggest fan of the Prius’s weak engine, but they aren’t the target demographic. Speed and power aren’t a big deal when your goal is to get to and from work or the store without spending a bunch of money on gas. Leisurely drives, long commutes, or taking care of your day to day driving needs are where the Prius shines brightest. Of all the current hybrid cars on the market, the Prius is the best.
